Questions about CCC Sunday morning Children’s Ministry – Kingdom Kids
Kingdom Kids is the name given to the children’s ministry at CCC as a whole.
Our classes are currently offered during both the 9:00 and 10:30 services. We do NOT offer children’s ministry classes during Holiday weekends.
Yes, we have Wednesday evening children’s groups that meet at our church during the school year. We offer nursery for birth through pre-school, 180 Kids Club for children in Kindergarten through grade 4, and S.H.I.E.L.D. for 5th and 6th graders.
All children from birth through grade 6 can attend. Birth through 2 years of age are in our nursery room, age 3 through Kindergarten are in our Pre-k room, and 1st grade through 6th grade are together in the multi-purpose room.
We strive to have a mix of activity and education. We use Christian songs as a way of worshipping and learning. We do a craft each week, and include games to supplement the Bible lesson for that week. The lesson is made to be interactive to get the children to think about the material, not just tell them about it.
Yes, you have the option of bringing your child to Kingdom Kids at the beginning of service, during the break after praise worship called donut time, or keeping them with you throughout the service.
If you and you child are new to our church, and it would be helpful for you to attend their Kingdom Kid’s class with them to get them comfortable with us, that is completely fine. We don’t want to take away from your worship time, but ultimately we want the kids to get to know us and be comfortable. There are also opportunities to volunteer within our Children’s Ministry as well.
If you are a guest we will fill out a nametag for your child to wear and a tag for you to keep. We will have a code on each of them to ensure the child is back to you at the end of church. If you attend our church and Kingdom Kids regularly you will use the computer to print out the nametag and pick-up stickers. We are available before each service to assist with this if needed.
This is a top priority in our Children’s Ministry. In each of our classes we will have a leader and two additional adult volunteers. This allows us to have constant awareness to any needs that may arise. All of our leaders and volunteers are required to complete a background check before they are able to serve in our Children’s Ministry in any capacity.
10. What is my child needs me during the service?
If we need to contact you during the service we will put the code from child’s nametag, which matches the code on the pick-up slip, on the video screen in the church. This will inform you of the need to come to your child’s room, while maintaining privacy.
11. How do I inform leaders and volunteers of my child’s allergy or medical needs?
If there is any special need or medical condition we need to be aware of, please don’t hesitate to talk to us. Our nametag system allows us to add an allergy alert, so that all leaders and volunteers will be aware. The best idea is to just have the conversation first, and we will do all we can to accommodate.
12. If I have a concern or question in regards to Kingdom Kids, who can I talk to?
You can talk to any of our room leaders, the children’s ministry director, or one of our pastors. Any concerns will be addressed appropriately.
